Shriners Children’s Philadelphia
Marketing and Communications Specialist

DECEMBER 2020 – OCTOBER 2022. PHILADELPHIA, PA
In my first year in this position, I was able to do more than I ever thought possible.

I had the opportunity to help coordinate a national DRTV commercial video shoot for our hospital system, which was a multi-day endeavor bringing 25+ patient families into the hospital to capture dialog, b-roll, and stills to be used in giving campaigns throughout the next couple years. I primarily helped coordinate logistics for scheduling the families and being a liaison within the hospital for the b-roll team.

Two of our patients were also picked to represent our hospital system as National Patient Ambassadors, and their families were brought to the hospital to film elements of their care journeys. Similar to the DRTV filming, I helped coordinate schedules and was a liaison for the filming crew and patient families over the days that we filmed.

Besides these two extra-exciting projects in my first couple months, my regular responsibilities are planning, creating, and scheduling social media content; graphic design work for internal and external audiences, including flyers, digital graphics, print advertisements, donor relations materials, and hospital rack cards; writing and editing patient stories; and photography of hospital events and donor visits.

I’m skilled in the Adobe Creative Cloud, most fluently in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro. I’m familiar with most social media content scheduling services, although I’ve primarily used Hootsuite. But I learn quickly no matter what new tool gets introduced to me, and I love getting to know the ins and outs (and shortcuts!) to help me get the job done.

Masonic Village at Elizabethtown
Public Relations Associate

MAY 2020 – OCTOBER 2020. ELIZABETHTOWN, PA
This internship allowed me to expand my skills in press release writing, photoshoot and other event scheduling, publication story interviewing, writing and editing and crafting blog posts. I also helped coordinate intranet content and proofread for memos, newsletters and magazine publications.

I was also able to connect with many departments on campus while working on my “capstone” project of the internship, our office’s Crisis Communication Plan. I had to research, propose, structure and edit the plan with guidance from the our department’s director, Tina Lutter. For a complete explanation of the project, go to the Professional Projects section.

The Snapper
Editor In Chief

AUGUST 2019 – MAY 2020. MILLERSVILLE, PA
After maintaining the news editor position since 2018, I moved to EIC by being voted in by our editorial board. I handled organization funds, managed all print and web content, gained experience using Facebook’s advertising platform and planned meetings and events for Millersville’s campus newspaper.

As EIC, I also redesigned our website (thesnapper.com) and networked with departments on campus to advertise with our paper, raising thousands of dollars for our organization.
